Capacity Building Trainings in Climate Change Knowledge
6 March, 2024Environment Africa Zambia in Zimba district proudly joined hands with the global community in commemorating World Water Day, under the inspiring theme of "Water for Peace."
In a significant event filled with dedication and purpose, EAZ took a significant step towards sustainable change by handing over 10 Twenty Thousand (20,000) liters capacity water harvesting tanks that were constructed in 10 (Zimba, Simwami, Muzya, Njabalombe, Kakkopa, Kayaba, Sianjina, Chalimongela, Mbwiko and Mapatizya) Schools in the District. These tanks stand not just as structures, but as symbols of resilience and adaptation against the challenges posed by climate change and hold a deeper significance, as they are set to transform the lives of school-going children by providing improved access to water and sanitation facilities. Every drop that will be collected in these tanks represents a brighter future for these young minds, enabling them to thrive in a healthier learning environment.
The event was graced by the Zimba District Commissioner Mr. Robson Mulamfu who in his heartfelt speech underscored the vital importance of water in ensuring human survival, especially with the current drought. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Environment Africa for the unwavering commitment to this cause.
As we reflect on this momentous occasion, let us reaffirm our pledge to safeguard our precious water resources, not just for ourselves but for generations to come. Together, let us continue to work towards a future where every individual has equitable access to clean water, paving the way for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
